Chairman's Comments
What a
great group of City and Town Chairmen we have! I’d like to thank
each one of you who dedicate your time to organize, fundraise, and
promote the Lake County Republican Party through your efforts.
Because
of the dedicated efforts of so many on our team, we have been able to
start creating a better quality of life and promote honest elections. I
continually hear how the other party is scared of losing their
stranglehold on the good people of Lake County.
Our
elected officials, all seventy three of them, are also making an impact.
We hear more and more about how Republican County Assessor Hank Adams is
finding entities that should have been taxed for years but somehow were
not. We read about the Republicans on the Solid Waste District led by
County Councilman Rick Niemeyer and Griffith Clerk Treasurer George
Jerome who are bringing to light the wasteful expenditures of this
group. We saw how the Republican councilmen in Munster joined with our
efforts and the efforts of many others to stop the democrats from
creating another layer of government with unlimited bonding authority.
Then we saw how our Republican State Legislators worked to get funding
for the Little Calumet River Commission with oversight to assure proper
spending of that money. Recently, we read about our two Republican
Councilwomen in Dyer, Debbie Astor and Mary Tanis, who are fighting to
prevent wasteful spending by rehiring a police chief that is already
getting a pension from the citizens. And the list goes on!
Folks, if
we didn’t have these Republicans watching out for all of us, we would be
in much worse shape than we are in now. Together we are making a
difference!
I am
getting more and more inquiries through our website from people who want
to get involved in what we are doing. Residents in Lake County are tired
of the stigma that has been brought upon us by the other party. They are
tired of seeing their hard earned money being spent on government waste.
Without
our great team of Chairmen, we wouldn’t be able to get good Republicans
elected. These individuals, just like your executive committee, are all
volunteers. If you like what we have accomplished, I ask that you show
your appreciation and support by donating to the Lake County Republican
Party. Our Lincoln Day Dinner is coming up on April 21st.
Please consider donating at the highest level you can so we can continue
to advance our purpose and our mission by getting more good Republicans
elected to office!
Sincerely yours,
Kim Krull
Chairman
Lake County Republican Party

Richard
Mourdock was elected Indiana's State Treasurer in
November 2006 and was re-elected in 2010, leading the
Republican ticket with over 62% of the vote. As Treasurer,
Richard has been an integral part of the state's fiscal
health. Richard's leadership earned over $1 billion in
investment income for taxpayers and successfully expanded
the state's college savings plan. At the same time, his
office has returned an average of 10% of his budget back to
the Treasury each year.Richard is known nation-wide for
leading the legal fight to challenge the Obama
Administration's illegal bailout and takeover of Chrysler.
Richard took this case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court
on behalf of Indiana pensioners. His courageous efforts were
featured in articles by George Will, the Wall Street
Journal, as well as on Fox News and other national media
outlets.
A solid conservative, Richard's message of constitutionally
limited government was heard by over one million people
during the 9-12 March on Washington in 2009.
Prior to his election as State Treasurer, Richard had a
successful 30 year career in the private sector, managing
businesses in the energy, environmental and construction
industries. He also served two terms as County Commissioner
of Vanderburgh County.
Richard is a licensed pilot, has been active in Christian
Missions in Bolivia, holds a Master's Degree in Geology from
Ball State University and a Bachelor's Degree from Defiance
College in Ohio. Richard has completed six marathons in the
past eight years. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in

Senator
Dick Lugar combines Hoosier optimism about America’s
future with energetic, enduring leadership on the most
challenging problems facing Indiana and the United States. A
fiscal conservative who supported a Balanced Budget
Amendment 17 times, Dick Lugar opposed Obama’s ineffective
“stimulus” bills, bankrupting budget plans and
big-government, big-spending agendas. He has voted against
Obamacare at every opportunity – more than 20 times.
For his leadership fostering private-sector job growth,
cutting taxes and spending and iminating government
regulations, Senator Lugar has received top ranking awards
including Guardian of Small Business, the Spirit of
Enterprise and Watchdog of the Treasury. Senator Lugar
received a 100% score by both the National Right to Life and
the Christian Coalition. He proudly led conservatives in the
confirmation fight for Chief Justice John Roberts.
Dick Lugar is respected statewide and nationwide for his
unique wisdom of current events and positive vision for the
future. That’s why Hoosiers like Gov. Mitch Daniels say
Senator Lugar is “a national treasure that Indiana cannot
afford to relinquish.” In these serious times, we need
serious leaders. That’s Dick Lugar. Visit

I
pay attention. I have succeeded in a tough industry during a
tough market. I know a good deal from a bad deal, and we
keep making bad deals as a country. We all know it; we can
all feel it; yet most of us feel powerless to change it. I
had hoped for some sign that the career politicians were not
so selfish and small as to let our country fall without a
fight. What I found is, not only are they not willing to
fight, they are accelerating our fall.
By the time we vote this year, we will have racked up nearly
as much debt in four years under the Obama-Reid-Pelosi
regime, with help from politicians like Peter Visclosky, as
we have in our 225 year history.
Stop and think about that! At best, it is incompetence. At
worst, it is an intentional restructuring, boardering on
treason that will fundamentally change America forever by
the time we get another chance in four years.
Our debt is the biggest threat to our security and American
way of life we have ever faced. It is the reason I am
running. It is the reason Jennifer and I used our savings to
launch this campaign, and my family is willing to miss much
of our time together. It is also the reason we hope you
choose to stand with us and support our campaign to save our
nation from the career politicians. No politician has ever
done anything by themselves or between themselves that was
any good for America. Only by focusing the voice of the
people to action have the good ones been able to guide our
nation. I am willing to lead the voices in our district who
feel America is still worth fighting for, to make sure we
never feel this way again.
The career politicians cannot change who they are, so they
will not change what they do, regardless of what they say
this year. So ask yourself. If not us then who? and If not
now, then when? You know the answer. IT MUST BE US. IT MUST
BE NOW.

I’m
Bill Fine, candidate in the contested primary race
for House District 12. A Munster resident since
1958, I’ve been married for 38 years and have three
children and five grandchildren. I ran for Lake
Circuit Judge in 2010 and met many voters who also
care deeply about our community and who worry about
the future of Indiana and the Calumet Region. I
found citizens who understand that hard times
require tough decisions and who agree with me that
Indiana needs smart, honest, innovative leaders in
Indianapolis. I do not believe our local
representatives are always up to that task. As a
practicing lawyer for more than 35 years, I've
volunteered for professional, religious, political
and charitable organizations. I've been a
professional
advocate since 1976. I've honed my analytical skills
over the years, got to know people from all walks of
life, and have read more statutes than most
legislators. I am not a career politician, but I
would like another opportunity to serve our
community.
I’ve shown that I can work with a wide range of
people for both the good of the party and our
community. I believe that I have the education,
skills, experience, maturity and leadership
qualities to be an effective voice in Indianapolis.
I pledge to maintain communication with the voters
so that they truly have a voice in Indianapolis. I
pledge to perform my duties conscientiously --
always keeping the best interests of the District
and conservative principles in mind. I know the
issues that face the citizens and businesses of this
community and I believe I am the best candidate to
represent the 12th District in the Indiana
legislature.
